"Hathaway Healthy Kids"

  2009-2010 School Year Challenge

Complete 100 or more healthy activities of your choice by the end of the school year to win a medal on Student Recognition Day.

Document one healthy activity per day to equal a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 activities per month. Sign your name and return your calendar on time to enter the monthly raffle.

Hathaway Elementary School challenges all students to participate in a voluntary School Health and Wellness Program called "Hathaway Healthy Kids". This calendar activity program is designed to encourage and motivate students to increase their physical activity and make healthier food choices at home with friends and family.

A "Healthy Kids" calendar complete with ideas for healthy activities is sent home each month. Students are encouraged to document a variety of exercise and healthy food choices everyday on their calendar. Raffle winners receive a prize that promotes movement and exercise and one student is selected to be the "Principals Pal" and shares a healthy lunch with Dr. Martin with a friend of their choice. A school bulletin board highlights photographs of the raffle winners and all students are encouraged to send in their favorite photograph that represents Hathaway Healthy Kids in Motion.

Team Up and Energize Hathaway!
